I'm going to write about myself in the third person here. People keep asking for my biography and, well, this is it.
Gemma Burgess is the author of two fiction novels, THE DATING DETOX (2010) and A GIRL LIKE YOU (2011), both published by HarperCollins UK and both acclaimed as ‘edgy anti-romantic comedy’.
She's currently writing a New Adult fiction series, working with Dan Weiss, Publisher-At-Large at St Martins Press NYC, working title UNION STREET, about five girls sharing a house in Brooklyn after graduating college.
Gemma also writes screenplays (details TBA when there's something to officially A) and sometimes funny features for fashion magazines. In March 2012 she was nominated for two P&G Beauty And Grooming Awards for features she wrote for Tatler (Conde Nast UK).
Gemma was a creative copywriter in advertising in London for ten years, working with Saatchi & Saatchi and Ogilvy, among others.
She has a triple degree in English Literature, History and Theatre, and a post-graduate degree in Journalism.
Gemma grew up in Singapore and Hong Kong, lived in London for her 20s, and is moving to New York City in April 2012.
